We are happy to announce that we aquired a opensource license
from RefactorIT, which enables
us to use the whole ArgoUML source with this tool.
RefactorIT is a tool aimed at helping developers to refactor code and is entirely
written for java
... [More]
developers. It is thus a nice addition to the tools available for us
to improve ArgoUML.
RefactorIT allows us to:
compute metrics of the source code
dig in the source code
generate hyperlinked source code
helps through a number of automated refactoring tools, such as
automatic method creation from code fragements
splitting classes etc.
When you would like to use RefactorIT, please download it from the above mentioned
URL and register as a user in order to obtain the open source license key.
Our thanks to RefactorIT for providing all ArgoUML developers to make use of their tool!

Fellow software developers,
The ArgoUML community of developers is proud to present the new stable
version of ArgoUML. Since the last stable release (0.10.1 on the 7th of
July) there has been a lot of activity in the ArgoUML project. Most of
... [More]
the
activity has been fixing of bugs and some interior changes so functionally
this release has very little additions over 0.10.1 in relation to the amount
of work put into it.
It is safe to say that this stable release of ArgoUML is the best ArgoUML
release so far. There has been a huge amount of problems solved in this
release. The release is however not bugg-free. There are a lot of known and
yet unknown bugs left in this release and the work continue with identifying
and solving them.
As you know, ArgoUML is an Open Source project. This means that all the
development is made by a community of interested programmers, students and
researchers, contributing their time towards the advance of ArgoUML. This
means three things. First of all anybody is allowed and encouraged to
download the source code and improve on it with the hope that the
improvements eventually will be incorporated into the project so that
everyone can benefit from it. Secondly ArgoUML has been, is and will be a
tool containing interesting new ideas in the field of UML design. ArgoUML
relies on you to use, report problems, and if you want help in tracking down
problems or do other work.
If you would like to contribute your ideas and your time to the further
development of this project you are welcome to do so by joining the project.
You can also use ArgoUML as a framework to test your own ideas on how to
build tools for UML design.
On the Internet, ArgoUML has become one of the most well-known UML
projects. If you look for 'UML' at Google you will find it on the first
page. If you search for 'UML tool' it shows up first.
Since version 0.10.1 the following big improvements have been made:
New version of GEF is included.
Property files for localization (not entirely)
Russian language
New way to handle notations making it possible to plug in other
programming languages.
Furthermore 0.12 contains countless problems solved, too many to remember or
list.
You can download it from http://argouml.tigris.org. Or you can directly
launch it via Java Web Start (if you have that installed).
Thanks to everyone that contributed to this.

The development release 0.11.4 of ArgoUML is now released and will be
available shortly.
This is the last release before the stable 0.12 release. If no significant
problem turn up in this release 0.12 will be exactly the same.
The
... [More]
following issues are resolved in this release:
ID Summary
83 Cannot enter or edit tagged values_pttnl for extending argo to xml
modeller?
95 don't prompt for save changes when nothing changed
119 Deletion of classes is too easy
190 namespace property of class changes eventually when ref'd >1 times
529 Notes in Activity diagram are not saved/loaded correctly
530 not able to Launch
544 text boxes saved as UTF-8 but loaded as ASCII
1093 There is no proppanel for receptions
1123 Inconsistencies in popup menus proppanelclass
1153 ClassCastException generates no warning during loading
1154 void type not added to model
1223 Unable to delete Class from model
1247 Texts in About Box are editable
These are issues that were solved in earlier releases and then had to be
solved again because the problem was not correctly fixed. There are also
some new issues solves where we decided that the risk of introducing the
resolution was low.
Please help in testing this release and make sure that all included issues
(and the issues included in earlier releases) are verified and closed.

The release 0.11.2 of ArgoUML is now completed and will become available
shortly from the download area of the ArgoUML site
(http://argouml.tigris.org/)
This release is an unstable developers release on the way towards the 0.12
version of
... [More]
ArgoUML.
The following issues are solved:
ID Summary
64 Message when drawing associations
209 Can't assign names to Collaborations
378 Import class from another package?
381 Reverse engineering does not cause project to be marked changed
453 Minor GUI corrections
486 Packages & Model have incorrect stereotypes
495 status bar on import
783 Disappearing modal dialogs
797 Dependency != realizes
799 Missing character and doubled "=" sign for attribute initial value
940 Save Graphics to EPS corrupts activity diagram
956 Changing multiplicity to * is represented with -1 on the diagram
957 Deleting diagrams does not work.
976 A created model cannot be saved
997 java.util.zip.ZipException: duplicate entry (still there)
1004 Exception thrown when adding an attribute
1007 Association text garbled on class diagram
1019 Concurrency identifier is added multiple times to method header
Please everybody take a moment to contemplate the fact that during the past
week ArgoUML passed the milestone of 1024 created issues! On the other hand,
in spite of the fact that there are a lot of new issues all the time, during
the last couple of months the amount of open defects and issues has been
slowly decreasing. Thanks to all those responsible for this! Great work! We
could do with a couple of more hands on this.

Details:
This release was build on a SunOS 5.7 (Solaris 2.7) host with jdk1.3.0_02.
It is not as thouroughly tested as I would like it to be due to timing
constraints and bandwidth problems and problems running the junit test. [Less]
