We are happy to announce that we aquired a opensource license from RefactorIT, which enables us to use the whole ArgoUML source with this tool. RefactorIT is a tool aimed at helping developers to refactor code and is entirely written for java ... [More] developers. It is thus a nice addition to the tools available for us to improve ArgoUML. RefactorIT allows us to: compute metrics of the source code dig in the source code generate hyperlinked source code helps through a number of automated refactoring tools, such as automatic method creation from code fragements splitting classes etc. When you would like to use RefactorIT, please download it from the above mentioned URL and register as a user in order to obtain the open source license key. Fellow software developers, The ArgoUML community of developers is proud to present the new stable version of ArgoUML. Since the last stable release (0.10.1 on the 7th of July) there has been a lot of activity in the ArgoUML project. Most of ... [More] the activity has been fixing of bugs and some interior changes so functionally this release has very little additions over 0.10.1 in relation to the amount of work put into it. It is safe to say that this stable release of ArgoUML is the best ArgoUML release so far. There has been a huge amount of problems solved in this release. The release is however not bugg-free. There are a lot of known and yet unknown bugs left in this release and the work continue with identifying and solving them. As you know, ArgoUML is an Open Source project. This means that all the development is made by a community of interested programmers, students and researchers, contributing their time towards the advance of ArgoUML. This means three things. First of all anybody is allowed and encouraged to download the source code and improve on it with the hope that the improvements eventually will be incorporated into the project so that everyone can benefit from it. Secondly ArgoUML has been, is and will be a tool containing interesting new ideas in the field of UML design. ArgoUML relies on you to use, report problems, and if you want help in tracking down problems or do other work. If you would like to contribute your ideas and your time to the further development of this project you are welcome to do so by joining the project. You can also use ArgoUML as a framework to test your own ideas on how to build tools for UML design. On the Internet, ArgoUML has become one of the most well-known UML projects. If you look for 'UML' at Google you will find it on the first page. If you search for 'UML tool' it shows up first. Since version 0.10.1 the following big improvements have been made: New version of GEF is included. Property files for localization (not entirely) Russian language New way to handle notations making it possible to plug in other programming languages. Furthermore 0.12 contains countless problems solved, too many to remember or list. You can download it from http://argouml.tigris.org. Or you can directly launch it via Java Web Start (if you have that installed). Thanks to everyone that contributed to this. /Linus [Less]
