The Development release 0.14.alpha2 is now released. The only differences in this release as compared to 0.14.alpha1 is on the source code level. Indentation and file encoding. It should function exactly like the previous alpha. Please help in verifying closed issues. /Linus

There are still a lot of defects left to solve. We currently have 231 registered defects in our issuezilla database. In the last year there has been an increase in the number of open defects from below 150 in September. This is an increase of over 50 percent. I think this is mostly because we have been better when it comes to registering everything in Issuezilla but also that some big problems have been solved and that has made a number of smaller problems appear. It could also mean that there are more users and the increase in users also increase the number of problems found. Anyway, we need to work even harder on resolving defects. Please help in everything you can here! Close the issues you have reported when they are verified (we have 337 of those), verify resolved issues (103 are resolved in this release and totally we have 287 to verify), look through the open defects to see if there is something you can do about any of them, vote for the once you find important to make it easier to focus on the important ones. Comments The automatic builds we introduced on the 13th of December. There were some problems with them but on the 16th they were able to build for the first time and on the 22nd the JUnit test cases were running without failing. Beginning on the 1st of January this year, a lot of new JUnit test cases were introduced and it became apparant that we had problems with the automatic tests because of the fact that most tests required the GUI. After some discussion we are now using the jdk1.4 headless-feature to run the tests and since the 12th of May the automatic tests are, for the first time since 1st of January, running without failing (on jdk1.4). There is now a total of 248 tests running automatically after almost every commit. The test almost 80 of the ArgoUML classes. This is a big step forward in quality assurance. /Linus [Less]

There are still a lot of defects left to solve. We currently have 231 registered defects in our issuezilla database. In the last year there has been an increase in the number of open defects from below 150 in September. This is an increase of over 50 percent. I think this is mostly because we have been better when it comes to registering everything in Issuezilla but also that some big problems have been solved and that has made a number of smaller problems appear. It could also mean that there are more users and the increase in users also increase the number of problems found. Anyway, we need to work even harder on resolving defects. Please help in everything you can here! Close the issues you have reported when they are verified (we have 337 of those), verify resolved issues (103 are resolved in this release and totally we have 287 to verify), look through the open defects to see if there is something you can do about any of them, vote for the once you find important to make it easier to focus on the important ones. Comments The automatic builds we introduced on the 13th of December. There were some problems with them but on the 16th they were able to build for the first time and on the 22nd the JUnit test cases were running without failing. Beginning on the 1st of January this year, a lot of new JUnit test cases were introduced and it became apparant that we had problems with the automatic tests because of the fact that most tests required the GUI. After some discussion we are now using the jdk1.4 headless-feature to run the tests and since the 12th of May the automatic tests are, for the first time since 1st of January, running without failing (on jdk1.4).
