With the recent significant work done on the Alpha build of AdaptCMS 2.0, I figured it was time for a blog on the progress. Overall the status of the script is good, but an actual release - let alone beta release is still a ways off. The ACP ... [More] and basic frontend features are nearing completion - but new features, refinement, new design and then the new adaptcms.com/insanevisions.com websites. But in the near term the basics of most of the features should be wrapped up soon - next will be new features as well as starting on some of the insanevisions/adaptcms new websites. I'll be getting designs pretty soon. Anyways, onto the blog. [Less]

Since the last update more of the background stuff has been done, but that'll change with the upcoming work. Work will begin on the frontend with some of the basics being done and frontend features implemented and then it'll go back to the ACP ... [More] with work on the "Share" features and some more advanced features, along with the skinning of the ACP into templates. Thus far a lot of the work has been of the basic modules and not the new features which will change with the basics of the frontend done. As well, the idea of "re-doing" adaptCMS hasn't been a focus yet as a lot of the code is good - but 2.0 will have a lot of significant differences from 1.0, that's for sure. Stay tuned for more frequent updates. [Less]

Just a brief update on the progress of AdaptCMS 2.0, a new blog with more features discussed will go up this week. Onto the update: "Since the last update there's been a good amount of progress - some basic modules are done such as - Users, ... [More] Groups, Levels, Content, Sections, Fields. Now it may sound like the script is getting close to completion but it isn't. Just those modules are only partially done - basically functioning and with the new SQL structure but new features aren't implemented yet, I want to get the whole basic cp done and then go from there. I'm hoping to soon have the basic admin modules done - Comments, Files/Media, Pages, Polls, Settings, Skins. That doesn't include things like the support area which will be worked on in conjunction with improving the AdaptCMS v1 code and implementing new features. The frontend itself won't even be started for a little while. Anyway that about wraps it up. I will have a demo of 2.0 up sometime this week." From - CharliePage88.com [Less]

With the release of AdaptCMS 1.5 (linky), attention now goes to a future 2.0 version of the CMS. That version will not be out for quite some times, numerous months. The reason being that the script will be completely revamped and in some areas - ... [More] re-written. As well it will be sporting a completely new look. As with all versions, the brainstorming is beginning already - although it will be much longer than normal. Once some ideas on what the admin area and frontend will look like are done - the design work can be started up in the meantime of even more brainstorming and planning. Insane Visions has announced the release of AdaptCMS Lite 1.5 and AdaptCMS Pro 1.5, both available to download/purchase! AdaptCMS 1.5 is largely a minor version, as it comes inbetween 1.4 and the major version, AdaptCMS 2.0. Although minor, this ... [More] version is more than a few bug fixes - there are numerous new features. The biggest new feature is tagging and "Quick Edit". With tagging you can take advantage of such Web 2.0 features as a "Tag Cloud" and also help visitors search easier. A very useful "Quick Edit" feature has also been added, letting staff/admins quickly edit articles from thefrontend of the site. [Less]

Updates haven't been occurring for a while, but the good news is that AdaptCMS 1.5 will be releasing soon. Despite what I expected, the beta and final version will be very similar. This will mean several features won't appear until 2.0 (unless ... [More] they're cut), the good news being a final version of the script will be out shortly. Since I'll be on "kind of" a vacation nextFriday/Saturday, I'm shooting for a release between this Friday-Sunday. In another news, but still AdaptCMS related, work has VERY slowly started on the big 2.0 version. By work I mean brainstorming and it will continue to be brainstorming for a little while, actual work may not even begin until later July. Part of the reason is I'll be spending a good amount of money on a re-design of AdaptCMS. This includes a new admin skin, frontend skin and new AdaptCMS.com. Before the release of 2.0 (a ways to go) a new version and look of this site will go up too, but as said, that's a ways to go. Once 1.5 is released a lot of brainstorming will be done on 2.0, as it will be the biggest release since the first version. Stay tuned this weekend for the very likely release of AdaptCMS 1.5. [Less]

Updates have been lacking, but progress has been made on AdaptBB 1.0 and AdaptCMS 1.5 - infact a beta release of AdaptCMS and the first release of AdaptBB 1.0 are expected quite soon, possibly as soon as this Thursday/Friday! There are only a few ... [More] minor things to be done on AdaptBB 1.0. AdaptCMS still has some significant features to be finished, but once any plugins are done, release of the Beta will follow afterwards. Stay tuned to this Thursday/Friday for a very possible release of one/both! [Less]
