The engine core is written in C++, but highly customizable through the embedded Python interpreter. Engine and game data are strictly separated to allow the creation of completely different RPGs with the same engine.

QTads is a cross-platform, multimedia interpreter for Tads games, compatible with HTML TADS. Both Tads versions in use today (Tads 2 and Tads 3) are supported. It has been tested in Linux and Mac OS X, but it should compile and run in many more. "Tads" is short for "Text Adventure Development System."
Chimara is a GTK widget and stand alone program with which to play interactive fiction games. It is an implementation of the GLK API specification using the GTK libs. It is also being ported to the iLiad e-book reader, hopefully to be the interactive fiction player of choice.
