test_virgo_malloc.c testcase output for virgo_malloc that returns a VIRGO address. Corresponding kern.log showing vtranstable entry address is kern_log_test_virgo_malloc_2_virgo_mempool_driver.working_virgo_malloc.24October2013

Updated test_virgo_malloc.c with reinterpret cast of long int return value from virgo_malloc syscall Printfs print in both long int and (struct virgo_address*) cast.

Due to Kernel Panic all strcat()s have been wrapped with a kstrdup() for guaranteed kernel char* test_virgo_malloc.c has been modified with reinterpret cast of long int return value to a virgo_address pointer and it prints the pointer too. There doesn't seem to be a better way to do this as there are almost nil references for returning a non-"long int " user defined return data type pointer from a kernel syscall. Logs for virgo_malloc and Kernel sides have been added to repository.

Kern.log output for virgo_cloud_malloc() test after a kernel rebuild for vtranstable addr fix which is correctly printed in logs. But still there is sock_release and poll_wait panic.

Kern.log for simple_strtoll() in virgo_malloc.c which correctly parses the address in string into long long and through reinterpret cast void* is obtained. Line 500 to 600 show that all other %p formats %p, %pK, %pF, %pS print (null) or 00000000 due to some unknown reason.

simple_strtoll() correctly scans the address instead of all other %p formats (%p, %pK, %pF, %S) which return either 00000000 due to obfuscation or null for unknown reason. Test Kern.log added under test/

prototype for str_to_addr2() which invokes simple_strtoll() has been added
ka_shrinivaasan

Added str_to_addr2() function which directly uses simple_strtoll() instead of vsscanf() Also added lot of other %p qualifiers - %pK, %pF, %pS for debugging the null scanf and this is becoming more of trial and error which it shouldn't be as the driver %p sscanf() works. Something is wrong with syscall path.

Ongoing debugging for null sscanf in virgo_malloc.c. As an alternative to sscanf also tested strtoll in userspace which is bit of a hack to get a pointer from string. Infact the kernel/vsprintf.c in kernel source uses simple_strtoll after parsing the qualifier.

Updated sscanftest.c with separate pointer for var_sscanf and output in comments.
