From Thomas Koch personal blog: So this is day one after my first LinuxWorldExpo. I'm going to work on the contacts I made just after this post and hope that there are somes who'll pay for making eGroupWare even better. There're likely two or

three small companies who uses the projectmanager and would like to get invoiced directly out of eGW. So I'll take the General Ledger and Accounts Payable/Receivable from ProjectERP, polish it and get projectmanager to send invoices to Accounts Receivable. But the contract isn't sure yet. So if anybody outside want's to take part in the sponsorship for this feature, I can convince the main client more easily to pay the rest. Otherwise there has been a good idea from Lars and Cornelius to enhance our presentation on the next expo. Ask them about their idea! It was fine to meet both of them. They're quite friendly and it'll be a pleasure to work together.BTW: Wouldn't it fine to have a planet-egroupware as there's planet-php or planet-debian? [Less]

This is first public announcement of our plans to hold a eGroupWare developer conference end of November here in Germany.
The conference is scheduled from Friday the 24. November 17h to Sunday 26. November 2006 15h. It will hold at the Location of
... [More]
the Stylite GmbH (www.stylite.de) in Kirchheimbolanden (close to Frankfurt, Germany):
Topics for the conference:
future direction & technics for eGW development
learn to develop applications for eGW
get to know the other developers
your ideas ...
Target audience / participants:
active eGW developers / project-members
people interested in developing GPL apps for eGW
people who develop company intern apps for eGW
We have set a maximum number of participants of 25, due to the available conference- and hotel-rooms. I dont expect that to be a big limitation, if it will be, we will use the above order to accept participants.
Because of the generous offer of Nigel Vickers from the Stylite GmbH, the cost for the location and the overnight stay of the GPL developers (current and future) are already covered. Thanks :-)
We will ask for a reasonable fee from interested company intern developers, to cover at least part of the travel expenses of active international project members.
Unnecessary to say, we explicitly invite international participants, and the conference language will depend on the abilities of the participants. We can have up to two parallel conference threads.
Please send ideas for conference topics to the developers list, which will be used for further planning of the conference. Please keep in mind the target audience (eGW developers). We also think about a user conference / meeting in 2007.
Hope to see everyone in November :-)

As there are many questions regarding to security alert:http://www.frsirt.com/english/advisories/2006/3414Our packages are not vulnerable to this issue! However, the old phpGW code causing this problem exists in eGroupWare too. So if you build your

own package and configured the webserver against our recommendation, with register_globals On your installation might be vulnerable. The bug is fixed in subversion and thus will be fixed in our next service release. If for some reasons you have switched register_globals On you need to update asap. [Less]
