Version 2.6.0 for JDK 8 has been released to Maven under version number 2.5.2, which is also the version in the Jar manifests. The version reported inside HSQLDB is 2.6.0. Version 2.6.0 for JDK11 has been released to Maven with identical version number.

Version 2.5.1 adds GROUPING SETS, CUBE and ROLLUP support with ALL and DISTINCT qualifiers. Improvements to Fine-Grained Access Control at row level, and data file space management, are among the many enhancements in this release.

Version 2.5.0 has several new features. System-Versioned Temporal tables keep full histories of updated and deleted rows. Fine-Grained Access Control works at row level. Log-based synchronization keeps replicas in sync. There are also many bug fixes and enhancements in this release.
