Your eyes deceive you not. Our own beloved enanocms.org has moved off of the adapted version of St. Patty and is now using a custom theme courtesy of Andrew Harricharan (P55). We're also running the new Enano 1.1.6, including the latest releases of ... [More] Newsboy and the Yubikey authenticator. I decided to upgrade to the beta to give an idea of what it's like and because it has features I want to use. Plus it's faster and more secure, and it's just in general a huge leap forward from Banshee. Yes, it really is based off of the Enano 1.1.x installer UI. People kept asking if I'd ever make a real theme out of it; well, I did (although it was P55 that originally submitted the mockup to our forum). We don't plan to release the theme yet due to copyright concerns as well as the fact that it's not complete (the redirect pages are minimal) and I want to have it as a trademark of enanocms.org. We'll see how it goes and, depending on what the community wants, consider releasing it sometime in the future. [Less]

Well, we didn't win the YubiKing contest but we sure learned a lot about the Yubikey and authentication integration as a whole. Some great features have gone into Enano as a result of this contest, and we plan to continue developing the Yubikey ... [More] plugin as demand for new features arises. The Enano team is planning to support the Yubikey 2.0 before it reaches general availability as Yubico is going to provide us with five Yubikey version 2.0 models. This has also injected a bit of action into the Enano 1.1.6 development that has been moving slowly lately. We've nearly finished our feature set - only one major change really remains - and within a week or so we plan to move into feature freeze and testing. A couple of really cool changes are going in last minute including a beautiful new theme selection UI and one or two other things we can't tell you about yet. We're really excited about what lies in the near future and we hope you are too. Keep watch, this is the part where things start to get exciting. [Less]

You may have heard about the Yubikey and how it grants a high strength authentication system that doesn't really require any client software on the computer. Well, the Enano team felt that this was a really great idea, and so the latest revisions in ... [More] Mercurial will support the new Yubikey plugin, which lets you use a Yubikey for authentication into Enano CMS. Features of the plugin are: Changing the auth server for Yubikey validation What additional information may be required to log in Enrolling multiple keys to a single account And more! Support is preliminary (mainly because Enano 1.1.6 isn't finalized for beta release yet), but if you have a Yubikey, try it out! We also have a page on the Yubico wiki. [Less]

Update: Our donor list is now available. All donors will be listed on this page. As Enano 1.1.x nears its beta stage, we're getting ready to reach one of the most challenging parts of testing a web application: getting it working across a diverse ... [More] set of shared hosts. Will it work in a chroot jail? Will it work with Safe Mode on? Will it work with mod_security? Will it work with banner ad scripts? With an oddball MySQL configuration? A lot of that's up in the air right now. We don't have the facilities to test a lot of these situations, so what we're doing is asking for help testing Enano on shared hosts. The way this works is we're asking users to donate one month of shared hosting on your favorite (or least favorite) service and we'll try to get Enano working on there and commit changes to the master source tree as necessary. We're accepting donations from shared hosting providers, too. The goal of this is to find and eliminate any mistakes that may have been made during the design and development of all those new features. What we'll need is all the login details and privileges associated with a normal hosting account. No special privileges or anything, and any random subdomain is fine. If you're a user, this gives you the chance to get the focus of the developers directed directly at your hosting service. If you're a webhost, it means your users can run a really awesome CMS, which means they'll be more likely to give you business (yes we will link to the most compatible hosting providers). We're also planning to try to solicit offers from some of the more popular providers. Enano has a very limited budget, but being an open source project we're willing to depend on small contributions from a diverse array of users. You can feel free to donate by e-mailing us login details, or if you'd rather donate monetarily we provide that option as well. [Less]
