The Enano team is proud to introduce a new level of integration and a much more simplified approach to trying out Enano in a test - or even production - environment. Thanks to the folks at BitNami.org and Neal Gompa, an Enano module is now available. ... [More] BitNami stacks are cross-platform, pre-configured versions of Apache, PHP, and MySQL; Enano's module allows installing Enano on these stacks with just a couple of clicks. The package is based on Enano CMS 1.1.6. We worked with the BitNami guys to help make this possible and want to thank them publicly for their support for the development of the very first externally developed BitNami module. Due to the fact that BitNami (and thus the Enano module installer) is based partially on proprietary and closed-source software, the Enano project will not be providing any support for this module. When filing bug reports, we ask users to mention if they are using the BitNami module. This won't give you reduced support if we think it's an issue with the BitNami module, but it will allow us to identify a potential problem area. Issues with the installer should be reported to BitNami. Neal will still maintain the installer, but we are choosing to maintain this distinction for the integrity of the project. [Less]

[More] BitNami stacks are cross-platform, pre-configured versions of Apache, PHP, and MySQL; Enano's module allows installing Enano on these stacks with just a couple of clicks. One very important thing to note is that while the build available from BitNami is labeled as 1.1.6, it is NOT the final release of 1.1.6. There will be a release announcement here when 1.1.6 is released. The package is based on Mercurial revision 827 (2c20563245b2) in Enano 1.1.x. The Enano team is pleased to announce the release of Enano CMS version 1.0.6, code-named Roane, for immediate availability. This release addresses an XSS (Cross-Site Scripting) vulnerability in the shared HTML sanitizer, potentially allowing guests ... [More] to inject arbitrary Javascript code into comments and pages. The vulnerability only affects users of Microsoft's Internet Explorer browser. We want to extend our thanks to the folks at nukeit.org who reported this. Release notes are available in the usual place. Those who wish to patch the vulnerability without upgrading to 1.0.6 may use this patch, which will also apply to all versions of Enano 1.1.x (also vulnerable). This release is part of the Enano team's ongoing maintenance of the Banshee (1.0) stable branch. May we add a reminder that support for Banshee will be maintained until 1 year after the stable release of Caoineag (1.2.0), after which security updates will be made available for 1 year. [Less]

The Enano Team is proud to announce the immediate availability of Enano CMS version 1.1.5, branded as Caoineag alpha 5. This is the final alpha release in the Enano 1.1.x series, which will eventually end with the stable release of Enano 1.2.0 ... [More] , codenamed Caoineag. Release notes are in the usual place. The same warning applies here: THIS RELEASE IS HIGHLY UNSTABLE AND IS LIKELY TO CAUSE YOU PROBLEMS. IF YOU INSTALL IT ON A PRODUCTION WEBSITE, DO NOT EXPECT SUPPORT FROM US. No support of any kind is provided for this release. Enano 1.1.x will not run on PHP 4.x. PHP 5 or PHP 6.0.0-dev is required. Caoineag a5 is the final release that will have major feature improvements. From here on out we are focusing on minor features, enhancements, usability improvements, new hooks and plugin APIs, and backend design considerations. At this point we consider it relatively unlikely that there will be any major breaking changes to the plugin API and thus it should be safe to develop plugins for Enano 1.1.x with confidence that little or no modification will be needed to make them work on 1.2.0 when it comes out. Translation is another matter. We're not sure how many string additions and changes will be made in the next few releases, especially beta 1. We will try to develop a toolkit for analyzing differences between language files so that translators will find their work easier. Lastly, we have some major advertising and PR improvements in the works as well, so stay tuned! We might be done adding features, but that only means that it's going to get more exciting from here as we focus more and more intently on our goal of the release of Enano 1.2.0. [Less]

I'm pleased to announce that Enano has been featured on IntranetJournal as one of the "most compelling CMS-based solutions that [does] not involve Drupal or WordPress." Enano received praise for its heavily thought-out security and our famous ... [More] AJAX-laden interface, and we promise it's only going to get sexier from here. Thanks to everyone that's evangelized about Enano. Word of mouth really helps projects like ours, so keep spreading the word - it's really starting to pay off! [Less]
