digiKam source code port is in progress. After 3 weeks of intensive work, digiKam core library is fully ported and Showfoto is abble to start as a KDE4 program. Of course porting code is not perfect, and Showfoto crash quickly. Layout of dialog ... [More] and sidebar need to be cleaned duing of several changes in QT4 and KDE4 API. Porting an application KDE3 to KDE4 is not a simple task and require time to do regression tests indeep. Also, KDE4 API are not yet frozen and cause several troubles for developpers... [Less]

Recently, digiKam port to KDE4 have been started. Laurent Montel, a KDE core developer will help digiKam team in this task. Thanks to him... Dear all digiKam fans! Some minor regression bugs led us to another release, the 0.9.2-beta3 release including an improved light table (full size images). The 0.9.2 final release is on track for mid June publishing. This beta3 version is rock-solid ... [More] , don't hesitate to use it for production. In order to make digiKam 0.9.2-beta3 compile you need to compile and install libkexiv2 and libkdcraw first (unless you complied them for beta[1,2] already). The library tarballs can be downloaded from (1) SourceForge. The digiKam tarball documentation can be downloaded from (2) SourceForge as well. [Less]

Dear all digiKam fans! The success story continues with the 0.9.2-beta2 release including a new light table (compare feature). The 0.9.2 final release is on track for mid June publishing. This beta2 version is rock-solid, don't hesitate to use it for ... [More] production. Beta1 and beta2 are rather used to improve usability than debugging. In order to make digiKam 0.9.2-beta2 compile you need to compile and install libkexiv2 and libkdcraw first (unless you complied them for beta1 already).
