In digiKam 0.9.4 release, if you don't use color management, new treatements are done if you import RAW files with 16 bits color depth in image editor: auto-gamma and auto white balance adjustements. See below the little demo done with digiKam for KDE4:read more

Since one week, kipi-plugins 0.1.6-beta1 for KDE3 have been released. This test version introduce severals fixes in plugins especially Flickr Export tool where i have solved a lots of bugs. I have make a review of dialog layout to be more suitable, like you can see in this demo:read more

But the concept is not just limited to find the similars photos by using copy, it even allows user to drawn a sketch of photo what user memories and shows photos what has similar shapes and colors as on sketch.read more [Less]

digiKam for KDE4 will become with another important tool for photograph: lens distorsions auto-correction. The plugin have been created by Adrian Schroeter from OpenSuse team. This tool have been implemented as a new image editor plugin. It use ... [More] LensFun shared library witch provide a database of lens settings to fix optical distorsions automatically. The tool use picture metadata to find the right settings to apply (Exif and Makernotes). You can adjust yourself all parameters if you need. A video of this tool in action is available below.
