225. That figure represents the total number of days since Android 4.0 (ICS) hit the AOSP repos. 37. That is the number of devices receiving their RC1 build of CyanogenMod 9 today. It wasn’t quick or easy, but we are extremely proud of this release and what it represents for us as a group. The [...]

After 3 rounds of release candidates, and squashing a few more bugs in the stabilization branch of CyanogenMod 7, the newest stable iteration of the Gingerbread-based CM7 is now being released. The team would like to thank everyone who submitted and followed up on bugs during the RC phase and helped us all get a [...]

While there are still a number of technical and organizational issues that need to be resolved very quickly, the plan is to quickly iterate through a series of release candidates over the next few weeks. Preface: “Why the change in Mascot? We loved Andy Bugdroid!” A lot of people love Andy, our former skateboarding mascot. This was clearly evident with the polarized reviews to our announcement of selecting Caio’s prototype. We love Andy too, he has served us faithfully for close to 3 years now. However, he increasingly became a [...]

If you want to help you fellow peers, grab all the torrents. http://www.jeago.com/cm/ It’s been a long time in the making, but it’s finally here: CyanogenMod 7.2, the latest version based on Android 2.3(.7), has reached the release candidate stage! We’ve been delaying [...]

Many of you may not give it a second glance, but among all the furor and concern about permissions requested by market apps and privacy, all Custom ROMs (CyanogenMod included) ship with one major security risk — root! We have been struggling with how to handle this for quite a bit, and took a first [...]

Thanks to all of the contributions we recently recieved from the community, we were about to purchase three new Dell servers for taking care of nightly builds for all devices! The new boxes are pretty monsterous, 12-core Xeon machines with 32GB of RAM. Perfect for building lots of copies of CyanogenMod 9 (and 7!), with [...]
