Like mentioned earlier, we have a team (UKKOSS 4) conducting usability tests on Blender with real end-users. Our usability testing team consists of 6 students of Information Processing Science.I'm a member of both teams so I act as a link between ... [More] them. The assignment is part of our studies, a course called Usability Testing. We wanted to test how a 3D artist, who has a background with 3D modelling software but hasn?t got any experience on Blender, is able to use Blender and if he understands the mental model of Blender because Blenders UI and mental model differ greatly with the major commercial 3D modelling software. The emphasis of the test lies heavily on Blender?s learnability, memorability and satisfaction. The learnability is how easily the new users find the right functions. The memorability is to assure that the user doesn?t make the same mistakes on and on. The satisfaction guarantees that the use of software is nice and easy.Stay tuned ? next time I'll tell more about test users and the test environment. [Less]
