Project Summary

Sprout (nano) is an open-source Windows text expander in Rust. Type a short trigger (;omw) and it expands to full text—a maintained, tray-first alternative to Beeftext.

Nano is deliberately minimal: no manager window, only a system-tray icon. Snippets live in editable TOML that reloads live. Ships as one portable Sprout.exe without WebView2.

Under the hood: global keyboard hook, trie matcher, placeholders (#{date}, #{clipboard}, #{cursor}), groups, case rules, per-app exclusions, and keystroke or clipboard injection. Headless engine and CLI are heavily tested; optional sprout-cli handles import/export.

Friendly for non-power-users who want reliable expansion without YAML ceremony. MIT-licensed.
