The Ohcount Project : Ohcount prefers modeline over file extension

If you look at a ChatZilla commit, e.g. https://www.ohloh.net/p/chatzilla/commits/143991363, and then look at the source, e.g. http://hg.mozilla.org/chatzilla/file/779a91a4c736/xul/content/menus.js ... [More] , it's clear why Ohcount is registering it as C++. But it's wrong, massively. I didn't set up these modelines, don't use them and don't think 'fixing' them will help - Ohloh has a massive, completely incorrect history of languages for the ChatZilla project. I personally think that the modeline should be secondary to unambigious file extensions (especially when in direct conflict). Thoughts? [Less]

Ohloh General Discussion : Ohcount's BSD license detection is crazy

So, I was looking at the source to ohcount to see why it was detecting all my projects (e.g. https://www.ohloh.net/p/jgrmsts) as BSD Copyright instead of New BSD License and I read licenses.c. Oh my ... [More] , that's got some crazy stuff in. Let's start with LICBSD, which is has the nicename New BSD license. That should be BSD Copyright to go with the website, no? I'm pretty sure it's not the new one at all. The URL of http://www.opensource.org/licenses/bsd-license.php is suspect too, that's the New BSD License too, not the original 4-clause one Ohloh is using for LICBSD. The regexp is suspect as well, picking anything containing bsd license without excluding anything (or having, say, LICBSD_ISH override it). Now, for LICBSDISH, the URL is blank and the nicename is just BSD-ish License unlike the website (New BSD License). The regexp doesn't even attempt to recognise new bsd license as LICBSD_ISH, too, instead requiring most of the license text. I'm less sure about LICBSD2CLAUSE_ISH license but its regexp again only matches a significant extract of the license text, which is less than ideal. If I can conjour up my build environment for ohcount again (I'm on Windows, it was a bit of a challenge to get it building), would you be willing to review a patch to fix the issues above? Edit: OK, so markdown is appalling. Sigh. I have no idea how to stop it shitting all over the underscores. Why on earth is italic not italic at all, too? That's just weird. [Less]

Suggestions for Ohloh 2.0 : Sort stack licenses

On the stack licenses page, there is a list of projects grouped by their license sets - except it isn't collating them very well! See mine, for example: James Ross's Stack There are 4 separate ... [More] groups for MPL 1.1 + GPL + LGPL! My suggestion is that - at least when aggregating internally - the list of licenses is sorted before comparing. The display can be any order as far as I'm concerned, although sorting alphabetically might be most pleasing. [Less]

Feedback Forum : Recent Posts feed for wiki comments

It looks to me like any comments added to wiki pages appear in the Recent Posts feed as Page, replied by ... where as normal forum replies are, f.e., Gravatars, replied by .... The former do link to ... [More] the wiki pages, but I only just realised that they were even wiki page comments just now when clicking one who's comment made no sense. :) (I thought there was some big topic called Page previously.) It would be nice to have the page name instead of Page, or at least some indication it isn't just an oddly named topic. [Less]
