I like the new feature to aggregate the news for your stack. How about also providing the set of feeds as an OPML file, for easy import into a feed reader?

Suggestions for Ohloh 2.0 : The Ohloh collection APIs seem to hav...

Rob: Perhaps I should have clarified that the idioms I described illustrate exactly why it is rather heavy to guarantee stable collection iteration, and why I don't think it's needed here. Ah, I ... [More] did not realize that. In that case, I agree entirely. What you proposed, Josh, is an inexpensive compromise with good properties. I do think it only has the stated properties if "the field you sort on" is an identity for the items, yes? But that is probably a reasonable limitation to impose. Good point. If you sorted on a field that does not uniquely identify an item, this would not identify your position in the set of items with the same field value. On the other hand, I rather like the idea of making all sorts stable by having secondary sort criteria that include a uniquely identifying field. One note, though: I did not mean to imply my approach would prevent seeing an item multiple times or missing an item if the item itself changes while querying. For example, if I search for projects sorted by name, and the name of a project changes, I might well see it twice or not at all. [Less]

When creating or editing forum posts, could Ohloh please show a preview of the post? Ideally, it could show and update the preview live, the way it would look as the next post in the discussion, with ... [More] some style indicating transience. However, a simple "preview" button which updates the preview will work as well. [Less]

The various widgets include inline CSS which specifies a list of fonts, but does not specify a generic font type. Please add a generic type such as sans-serif after the specific fonts such as arial ... [More] and helvetica. Better yet, consider specifying only the generic font type, to use the user's preferred font. (The same applies to parts of the site CSS.) [Less]

On the review pages, if they contain a series of reviews, the association between the "Was this review helpful to you?" and the review becomes harder to discern; lack of visual association makes it ... [More] potentially apply to the previous or the next review. I suggest putting a bit more margin between reviews, putting some visual separation such as a line or some faint alternating highlights, and changing the text to something like "Was the above review helpful to you?". Technical Issue Help : OepnSAML 2.0 C++ Source

Ohloh doesn't distribute the sources or binaries of any projects; it just tracks statistics about source code. Thus, you might have seen information about OpenSAML here on Ohloh, but you won't find ... [More] the source code you want on Ohloh. OpenSAML doesn't have a 2.0 release yet. 2.0 development appears to happen in their Subversion repository, and you can get it from there. If you want a tarball, try searching for "opensaml 2.0 beta1" to find several places that appear to have tarballs. [Less]

How about the ability to construct RSS feeds for "new projects that match these criteria"? The most important criteria consist of tags, but matching some of the project viability criteria might also prove a useful filter.

Suggestions for Ohloh 2.0 : It should be possible to add a positi...

You can already do this: just click "New" under "Experience", which will take you to the "New Position" form. You can fill out that form for contributions to a project even if that project doesn't ... [More] list you as a committer. You won't get credit for it in terms of KudoRank or on the project's page, but the project will show up in your profile with the description you gave. To extend this further, several people have proposed various means of assigning contributors to commits not made under their name, either in an automated fashion via text parsing in the commit message or manually by claiming individual commits. I would love to see that as well. [Less]
