Suggestions for Ohloh 2.0 : How about adding some statistics deri...

How about adding some statistics derived from groups of committers on similar projects? For instance, other people who work on many of the same projects, shown in a manner similar to the "people with ... [More] similar stacks", and sorted by number of common projects with some weight applied based on the commits by each person to the shared project. Another possibility: "people who work on projects with you also work on these projects that you don't". That might point you at projects you want to work on. For that matter, how about "Major contributors to your stack"? Or, for that matter, "people who work on the same projects that you do tend to use..." (based on their stacks)? And, on a more lighthearted note, how about a Googlefight-like mechanism for $FOO-wars based on some set of projects or people? "Among users of this project, how many use Emacs versus vim, or GNOME versus KDE?" Furthermore, how about dogfooding? "This many developers of GNOME have KDE in their stacks", or "This many developers of Mozilla Firefox have Epiphany or Galeon or Konqueror in their stacks". [Less]

Suggestions for Ohloh 2.0 : From the list of kudo gainers,

From the list of kudo gainers, you should split out the new accounts; otherwise, they dominate the list. I'd like the ability to separately see the new accounts, the existing accounts that gained KudoRank, and the combined list.

Feedback Forum : Duplicate projects for Apache James

Two different projects seem to exist for Apache James: http://www.ohloh.net/projects/4883 http://www.ohloh.net/projects/4338 They have one enlistment in common, and each has some enlistments that ... [More] the other does not. I think they need merging. To help catch this in the future, perhaps Ohloh could flag duplicate enlistments on the enlistments page; then, when adding an enlistment, you would find out about the other project. Flagging duplicate homepages or download URLs would help as well, though that wouldn't have helped in this particular case. [Less]

If you currently have the "forums" view open, searching should search for forum posts by default, rather than for projects as it currently does.

Suggestions for Ohloh 2.0 : An "Add as Contributor" link o

To add yourself as a contributor to a project, you need to go to the page for a contributor to that project and hit the "I am this person" link. However, I agree with your suggestion. I initially ... [More] created an ohloh account so I could consolidate my contributor entries across projects, so I originally connected myself to those projects as a contributor by using the "I am this person" link on a contributor page. However, when I tried searching by project, I looked at the project page and it took a moment to realize that I needed to look under "contributors" in order to add myself. Perhaps an "I contributed to this project" button on the main project page would help. That button should lead to a page much like the current "All contributors" view, with some potential enhancements: have the "I am this person" buttons right next to all the names in the list, and perhaps have a section above the main list saying "These contributors look like likely matches" with the results of a search for the logged-in account's name. Ohloh General Discussion : Please add the Markdown language

A number of projects use Markdown for their documentation or wiki. The extension .mdwn identifies a markdown file. Could Ohloh please add support for this language? Two projects I know of: ikiwiki ... [More] (http://www.ohloh.net/projects/3870) and the Portland State Aerospace Society (http://www.ohloh.net/projects/6940). [Less]
