Feedback Forum : Year tags can overlap in graphs

Dear Ohloh staff, thanks for your work. I noticed that the year tags in the axis of the lines of code/commits/contributors versus year can overlap (at least, with Safari 6.0.2 running on MacOSX ... [More] 10.8.2). This happens dealing with projects being developed since a long time such as GNU Octave: https://www.ohloh.net/p/octave D. [Less]

FOSS Questions : Software testing.

In my opinion, you should try to get in touch with your user community. The idea of open source software is that there is no distinction between users and developers and some of the users might become ... [More] developers themselves. It can however be difficult to convince your users that if they encounter a problem, they might write a bug report. You should put a lot of effort in the communication and documentation of your software in order that the users can feel that their feedback will be considered and will be useful for the software they are using. FOSS Questions : How should we announce the release of an open source project?

I developed my project in part because it was needed to myself and a few users of an Usenet discussion group. For this reason, I usually announce new releases on this discussion group, since I ... [More] participate often to it and I know there is an interest from other people. Anyway, I pay a lot of attention not to spam with lot of announces. Sometimes, there are lists of useful software maintained by users of a discussion group or forum. You should try to contact the maintainer of those lists in order to add your project. Apart from that, gam3 is right: Freshmeat is a wonderful place for announcing software and has a great visibility. [Less]

FOSS Questions : When to accept new developers on an Sourceforge project?

Hi Dhaun, thanks again for the suggestion. I downloaded the book and read it entirely. I can confirm it is very interesting. An absolute must for every project manager.
