Software testing.
In my opinion, you should try to get in touch with your user community. The idea of open source software is that there is no distinction between users and developers and some of the users might become developers themselves. It can however be difficult to convince your users that if they encounter a problem, they might write a bug report.
You should put a lot of effort in the communication and documentation of your software in order that the users can feel that their feedback will be considered and will be useful for the software they are using.
