This is a plugin for the MP3 player XMMS, it does volume normalizing so that you will not need to play with the volume knob whenever a song changes. It will set all songs to a fixed level that you set.
XMMS-SID is a plugin for XMMS1 for playing music that is commonly referred as "SID-tunes" aka music from Commodore 64 computer and it's close relatives. For the actual emulation/playing, XMMS-SID can utilize several emulator engines.
