GeoClue is a D-Bus API and library that provides all kinds of geographic information to applications. The information may originally come in various forms from many sources (backends), but GeoClue offers it to applications in a simple, abstracted form.

pgeodns is a simple DNS server that can distribute load for a hostname to the nearest mirrors (as defined by geography; on the country / continent level).
It is used for search.cpan.org, the NTP Pool (http://www.pool.ntp.org/), ftp.perl.org and for http://svn.apache.org/
