PHP is by far the most powerful web based programming language i have ever used. It provides an unparalleled platform for developing dynamic web based applications. And when used in tandem with javascript can be used to incredible effect

Notes:
Firebugs not only a fun toy for playing with other peoples sites. But it's also a great tool for making and testing quick changes to your own sites on the fly. I'm commonly using firebug to polish off my javascripts
phpMyAdmin phpMyAdmin

Notes:
phpMyAdmin makes it easy for even inexperienced MySQL users to make changes to there database without limiting an experienced users access. However it doesn't get my 5 star since it lacks ajax like you'd expect from a web based application.
Apache OpenOffice Apache OpenOffice

Notes:
OpenOffice is a great office suite. It's about time somebody supported an open standard for document formatting. However it does lack a clone of "Microsoft Office Publisher" which for me is a vital part of the office suite.

Notes:
MySQL is amazing! I have no idea how they made it, but it works. Whenever i need a store of data for one of my PHP based programs i choose MySQL.
Mozilla Firefox Mozilla Firefox

Notes:
Mozilla Firefox, is by far the greatest web browser I've ever used. It always renders to the W3C standards, which makes it perfect for web development.
