Project Summary
The Eclipse platform is a generic foundation for an IDE. That is, the platform is an IDE without any particular programming language in mind. You can create projects, edit files. The Eclipse Java IDE contains the tools to develop Java applications with the Java Development Tools (JDT). It also contains Git and CVS tooling, a task management system (Mylyn) and improve code completion. It also includes build support for Maven, Gradle and Ant.
