Technical Issue Help : Comment ratio?

The note about very few comments is gone now, which should mean the comment ratio is about average. At about 21%, that seems to make sense. The recount has obviously taken place, as all C/C++ entries are gone now.

Technical Issue Help : Rescaling logos in list vs in project page

We initially saw a similar problem with the A2Billing project's logo. I was tinkering with it in Krita with a view to placing it in a white square, but when I came to upload it I found a helpful chap ... [More] had already done it for me. Kudus to James Allen (account id #1!). I'm sure a similar tactic would work well for you. Admittedly, it would be nice if the aspect ratio were honoured everywhere. PNGs with an alpha channel wouldn't go amiss either. ;-) [Less]

Technical Issue Help : Equalizer svn not updating

Hi stavros, You are correct that LinuxMCE is simply extremely large. The download has been ongoing for several weeks, and it looks like we're about 80% through. I'm not sure why A2Billing has not ... [More] been updated -- this the second project like this to be reported today. Our scheduler has simply been passing over it, so there may be some bug in our scheduler. I've manually scheduled an update, which should run sometime today. Thanks, Robin [Less]

Feedback Forum : linux kernel branches and shared history

In the beautiful Ohloh future, we hope to revise our data model to uniquely identify all commits and code (actually, we'll probably use Git hashes to do this). A global uniqueness strategy would not ... [More] only recognize identical patches between projects, but would also let us track copied source files, automatically recognize included libraries, and more. Until then, yes, you can probably dump your code into 8 different projects on Ohloh, and have your commits count 8 separate times. There's probably little we can do about this in the near term. Technical Issue Help : Viewing details of project language breakdown

Support for XSL Transforms is relatively new. The analysis for PseudoQ probably predates the feature. I've scheduled a clean line count for the project, which should pick up the XSL.

Suggestions for Ohloh 2.0 : Reschedule code download by time between commits

I'd suggest rescheduling code download not in a first come first serve manner, but by taking into account how often the codebase has been changed in the past. For example calculate the time between ... [More] the last commit and the last download and schedule the next download at the same distance in the future. To mask out irregularities, you could for example also use not the last commit, but the last-10th commit and divide the time by 10. This should reduce the load to the servers caused by inactive or less-active projects. [Less]

Technical Issue Help : Recycloid initial source import failed

Hi Robin, Yes, you are correct: when you play with fire you get burnt :) When I made the mirror I only tested it with git clone, diff -r --brief *bzr-brach* *git-branch* and a quick look at git log ... [More] and assumed it's fine. Closer look at the commits show that it's far from OK. That change you pointed out really is a one-line change, but git log -p shows a lot of file deletions going on. So, I'll delete the git mirror and wait for you guys to implement Bazaar support. That's actually what I was trying to hint at in the first post :) Thanks for your hard work on this forum, Robin. -vmj [Less]

Technical Issue Help : How do I change my...

Hi Th3On3, Ohloh calculates your experience from the positions you create. Add one or more positions on your profile or a direct link. List the languages you used in the position and we'll create ... [More] your experience by combining your position history. And if you've contributed to open source projects, we'll be able to augment this history with a measured experience column. Let me know if you want more information about any of this. [Less]
