Our mission is:
To implement several existing captchas algorithms
To develop other heuristics of text rendering that would be hard to recognize automatically.
Weirdoglyph is a captcha (completely automated public Turing test to tell computers and humans apart) variant dealing with distorted text rendering. Some theoretical background can be found on the site of Carnegie Mellon University Captcha project.
For the first time, the goal is to implement a simple text renderer that can be useful to protect registration areas of web sites against automatic registrators.
Take a look at JCaptcha project. Its developers moved seriously further. They have more decent open source solution.
