TestNG is great for what it does, but if you have a problem it appears that you can pretty much forget any level of help or support. I created bug 25 days ago to which 3 people have added support. Not only has no one even been assigned, no one from the project has even noticed. So I posted a question about what support should be like on the "testng_dev" google group. That was on April 9th. Now April 24th and no one has cared enough to even respond.
In short, if TestNG already does what you want, it is mature and you should be fine. Otherwise, I would avoid it.
