Project Summary

SPINA is software that facilitates determining constant structure-parameters of endocrine feedback control systems directly from equilibrium hormone levels obtained in vivo.

The first version of this cybernetic approach allows for evualuating the functional status of the thyroid gland. This includes calculation of thyroid's secretory capacity (GT or SPINA-GT), sum activity of peripheral deiodinases (GD or SPINA-GD), Jostel's TSH index and thyrotroph thyroid hormone sensitivity index (TTSI).
