Source Metrics was a web site producing software metrics and contributor data for free, libre and open source software (FLOSS). You could describe it as a miniature version of Ohloh. Its implementation was and still is fully open.
The project was retired after Ohloh came around because Ohloh provided the same metrics and more in a much larger scale.
In contrast to Ohloh, Source Metrics code was looking for contributor names in the actual source, quickly providing a very complete contributor history but filtering this data turned out to require too much manual work.
