Sindre is a programming language for writing very simple graphical user interfaces in the style of dmenu, dzen, gsmenu, and so forth. Programs in Sindre exemplify the Unix tool philosophy, and are intended to be used in conjunction with other programs as merely a visual frontend to other code (which may be written in whatever language is appropriate).
The Sindre language itself is mostly a clone of Awk, where the asynchronous input events so prevalent in GUI programming are substituted for the records of Awk.
