The Python developers would like to use a new bug tracker for the Python project, and want to run trials using various systems. If you have some bug tracking software you'd like to put forward for consideration, please see the Call for Trackers.

25 Python-related projects have been selected for Google's Summer of Code initiative. The full list of projects has been posted.

Early registration for OSCON 2006 ends June 5, 2006. The conference will feature Python tutorials and sessions.

EuroPython is now open for registration and will be accepting proposals for talks until May 31. Early bird registration ends on the 26th of May.

PyCon 2007 will be February 23 to 25 2007, in Addison, Texas.

The NeedForSpeed sprint is taking place from May 21 to May 28 2006 in Reykjavik, Iceland.

The second alpha release of Python 2.5 is now available.

The first alpha release of Python 2.5 is now available.

The Universal MacPython 2.4.3 image contains an installer for python 2.4.3 that works on Mac OS X 10.3.9 and later on both PPC and Intel macs and includes both bsddb and readline.

Python 2.4.3 (final) is now available.
