It is now a little over a year since singapore was first released on SourceForge.net. In that time it has grown from a simple script used on a single site to a fully fledged image gallery used on thousands of sites around the world. But you don't ... [More] want to know about that...Before you rush off to download v0.9.9 let me say that it has not been extensively tested and is likely to be more buggy than v0.9.8 (which was surprisingly stable) so upgrade at your own risk and ALWAYS BACK UP!singapore 0.9.9 is a bumper feature laden release that implements one of the first and most frequently requested features: bulk image uploading (using ZIP files). Also new is mod_rewrite support, fixed size and aspect ratio thumbnail generation, progressive JPEG thumbnail generation, a new naming scheme which affects templates as well as a few long time bug fixes and more logically consistent reorganisation of the code. Please read the notes on upgrading as many things have changed in this release so a simple unzip and overwrite will most likely not work. Also included is an experimental PEAR::DB backend created by Joel Sjögren. To use it you must have PEAR::DB already installed and edit a couple of lines in includes/singapore.class.php. Unfortunately I have not really used it and so cannot provide any support but try the new forum and maybe Joel or someone else will be able to help. (3 comments) [Less]

Sourceforge.net seems to have decided I didn't really want know about all your singapore problems and spontaneously unsubscribed me from the Help forum some time around mid-January :-( Since I only ever check the forums when i get an email ... [More] notification, I missed a lot of stuff, sorry. I have now replied to most of these posts but I appreciate much of it is very overdue and possibly redundant. (0 comments) [Less]

It was released a few days ago actually, I just forgot to send this out - oops! I'll be very busy until the end of January so expect support response times to be slower than usual. Try posting any problems on the forum and hopefully someone else will ... [More] be able to help you.New features in 0.9.8URLs are now automatically made clickable in the 'description' fields. Galleries starting with a dot (.) are hidden from listing view (but can still be accessed if the exact URL is known). The navigation buttons in Mozilla, Opera, etc. (top, up, first, previous, next, last) are now enabled. Iifn parsing can be turned off.Bug fixes in 0.9.8Fixes include PHP 5 compliance, sorting in admin mode, file uploads when magic_quotes_gpc is on and updated the translator documentation.Calling all foreign language speakers! The singapore translation files need slight updates and tweaks with every new release as some words and phrases are added and some are changed. You do not need to be the original translator to update a translation. You do not even need any technical knowledge - it's just a matter of editting some phrases in a text file. If you want to start a new translation into your native language that's great too. Thanks to everyone who has contributed translations so far, I couldn't do it without you!Wishing you all a very happy and prosperous year 2004, T. (4 comments) [Less]

Since nobody got back to me about the pre-release I'll assume it wasn't bug-riddled. So here's the Real Thing(tm). Apologies for the general lack of activity on this project lately. Hopefully will pick up again sometime soon...Note that due to the ... [More] change in the way gallery and image details are passed to the templates, any user-created templates will need to be updated. Look at the included default templates for the relevant code. There are also issues with translations. Some strings have changed and these changes should have been automatically merged back into the PO files by 'msgmerge' but they seem to have been merged in at odd places. This needs to be addressed by the translators. (3 comments) [Less]
