The Linux Orinoco Driver supports a wide range of wireless network interface cards implementing 802.11b standard. Several popular chipsets are supported, namely Hermes by Lucent/Agere, Spectrum24 Trilogy by Symbol (including flashless cards) and Prism 2, 2.5 and 3 by Intersil. There is experimental support for Orinoco USB devices (in the Subversion repository only).
The driver is included in the Linux kernel since 2.4.3 and in David Hinds' pcmcia-cs package since 3.1.30.
The Subversion repository and the mailing lists of the project are hosted on SourceForge (http://sourceforge.net/mail/?group_id=44338).
