Project Summary
Open Orbit is an open source (3d) space simulator. The main purpose is to allow the user to experience manned space flight within the solar system.
Open Orbit will support plugin modules (such as new spacecrafts, instruments, engines and so on) written in C. Open Orbit also have integrated scripting support based on an embedded Python interpreter.
Open Orbit is targeted to POSIX and UNIX like systems but will have some platform support code to integrate better with Mac OS X. Open Orbit will also possibly run on Windows in the future.
Open Orbit is in early development but steadily progressing.
