Project Summary

OpenHMIS stands for Open Hospital Management Information System.

Why management? The software will provide hospital business management modules such as cashier, pharmacy & laboratory.

Why information? Recording and retrieving accurate clinical information is critical to improving patient care.

OpenHMIS will include a full complement of hospital business management software modules around an established open source clinical data system (OpenMRS) for the low-resource sub-Saharan African health sector. OpenHMIS is being built in low-resource African hospitals for low-resource African hospitals and clinics, but the end result will allow the software to be tailored to the needs of any healthcare institution
