Mireka is a mail server with SMTP, Mail Submission, and POP3 services. It can also be used as an SMTP proxy. As a proxy, it can help to prevent or diagnose mail problems, like outgoing backscatter spam. It provides detailed logging, traffic statistics and built-in, fail-fast filters.
Some other features:
- filtering by DNSBL and SPF
- aliases, forward lists with SRS, and very simple mailing lists
- wildcards (regular expressions) can be used to specify local recipients
- basic tarpit, to prevent e-mail address harvesting
- file system based mail queues
- authentication by IP addess or by username-password pair
- easy implementation and installation of custom filters written in Java
- runs equally well on Windows, Linux, etc.
