While searching for a way to make custom items work I came across a Youtube Video in which someone showed how to create itemsets for a Cata server using a repack. In this repack there were additional tables in the database for custom items, npc's and ... [More] whatnot. Seeing this made me curios if and how this is possible to do with mangos, as this would keep the mangos database tidy.I don't think that it's as easy as just adding a new table with exact the same collumns as the item_template. I mean something must tell the server which information it gets from what table. So perhaps it's hardcoded? [Less]

Greetings,as of today I am no longer part of the mangos project, and as such I will be moving on to different projects. While I still will do stuff with vanilla WoW, it will no longer be with mangos code but instead with a new codebase started from ... [More] scratch, as I set my eyes on reverse engineering the vanilla client and server from zero, including full documentation of file formats, protocols, etc. This is strictly a learning project, and will probably not result in a final, playable (as in private server) result, but it at least has already resulted in full documentation of all client file formats for vanilla WoW.Those interested in reverse engineering feel free to contact me on BitBucket.org or via mail, where I will be roaming with my little project. With kind regards,Daniel formerly known as theludaP.S. all accounts related to theluda will cease to exist, once the transfer of getmangos.com to Antz has been finalized. This includes both my email address, my github account, and it will also include the closing of the entity mangos foundation for which I will remove registration. This means that mangos will need new logos since the logos have been built by me and are not open source. [Less]

Following the events of the last few days, the future of this site and of mangos looked in severe doubt. After extensive discussions with the owners of this domain and forum, they have allowed me to assume full control of mangos and will be ... [More] transferring the ownership to me to due course. We are still awaiting the results of the github investigation so we currently do not have access to those repo's.- Fear not as the repos are safely stored elsewhere should they not be returned or destroyed by those who wanted to destroy us.Things will be a bit messy for the next couple of weeks while we sort out all the finer details, but thank you in advance for believing in us.The masses of communications I have had from people asking us not to give up is overwhelming,- Thank you, all of you [Less]

What in the heck is the difference, if I sound frustrated, it's only because I cannot get UDB to work with my Mangos Two installation. I spent the afternoon today importing and reimporting the stupid UDB for Mangos TWO only to get absolutely nowhere. ... [More] FIrst it told me I needed to update the database, went to do that and it told me that it was already updated. So I'm like, WTH? Then I turned around and reset the db server and tried again. Got all of the UDB updates installed only to have mangos tell me that it needed another update to the sd2 characters database, and that there was no such database to update. GRRRRR!Not to mention that UDB consists of absolutely no instructions whatsoever. I went through the zip file I downloaded, went through the website, and the zipfile inside the zipfile and couldn't find support or readmes. So... Again, what is the difference? If udb or ytdb or sdb is the way to go, would somebody please let me know, and also, how do I install the ruddy things? I'm gonna try ytdb, but am not planning to get anywhere. Now I go and cry and punch the computer and work on ytdb for real. [Less]

I found this in the archived help and support forum. I even tried adding what was mentioned there into my database, INSERT INTO gameobject_addon VALUES (22015, 0.0, 0.0, -0.694658, 0.71934);, and it didn't seem to help.Yesterday, for the first time ... [More] , from the Dwarf end of the tram, the tram finally came up on the side closest to the city. I took it to Stormwind and left the instance for the tram. Went back in to make sure I actually had it repaired finally, and it came back up on the far side of the platform. I can't get it to come up on the near side of the platform, no matter what I do. Has anyone ever manage to fix this issue? And if they did, how? Please help me. I believe it to be just a database glitch, but cannot figure it out as best I would like to. [Less]

Greetings, after setting up a mangos-server on a virtual machine without any problems, I'd give it a try with Raspberry Pi. I know mangos will overheat it, but it's just for testing with ARM because I have one here. When everything works fine, I'll go ... [More] for an Odroid-U2I've seen theluda and LilleCarl talking about this, so I thought it should be possible.http://getmangos.com/bb/topic/64/help-w … -on-linux/Right now I'm stuck doing the make-command:[ 3%] Building CXX object dep/src/g3dlite/CMakeFiles/g3dlite.dir/Any.cpp.o In file included from /root/mangos/sources/server/dep/include/g3dlite/G3D/MemoryManager.h:15:0, from /root/mangos/sources/server/dep/include/g3dlite/G3D/Array.h:20, from /root/mangos/sources/server/dep/include/g3dlite/G3D/Table.h:20, from /root/mangos/sources/server/dep/include/g3dlite/G3D/Any.h:18, from /root/mangos/sources/server/dep/src/g3dlite/Any.cpp:14: /root/mangos/sources/server/dep/include/g3dlite/G3D/AtomicInt32.h: In member function 'void G3D::ReferenceCountedPointer::zeroPointer() [with T = G3D::MemoryManager]': /root/mangos/sources/server/dep/include/g3dlite/G3D/AtomicInt32.h:124:44: error: impossible constraint in 'asm' make[2]: *** [dep/src/g3dlite/CMakeFiles/g3dlite.dir/Any.cpp.o] Fehler 1 make[1]: *** [dep/src/g3dlite/CMakeFiles/g3dlite.dir/all] Fehler 2 make: *** [all] Fehler 2The cmake looked like this: cmake ../ -DCMAKE_INSTALL_PREFIX=/root/mangos/bin/M0/ -DDEBUG=0 -DPCH=1 -DUSE_STD_MALLOC=1I did not use the option "-DACE_USE_EXTERNAL=1", theluda mentioned in the above linked topic. As a beginner I thought it is only neccessary, when ace 6 is installed. Any ideas? Any help is appreciated.Regards [Less]
