Project Summary

FreeLCD is a collection of applications for displaying information on an LCD or VFD. It supports graphical and character-oriented displays, and most of the common widths and heights.
Data and layout information is provided by clients, in a device-independent format. The server tries to render this as good as possible to the connected device. Information is scheduled for display according to rate of change (dynamic content is shown more often) and importance (alerts show more and longer).
Possible uses:
- Server stats (cpu load, users, uptime, up/download, temperature)
- Alerts (new email, buddy online, build finished)
- Information from online sources (news headlines, dynamic TV guide)
