Excellent database, also handy for embedded use.
I use it with .NET to avoid having to install a bloated instance, and am very happy with it.
Very mature, has support for triggers, UDFs, stored procedure language, etc.
Only problem is that you have to go hunting through release notes for up to date documentation. Very active and helpful support list though.
