The Farm2Fork Project has been going now for the last few years and unfortunatly has not really used this portal. We hope to soon be releasing the code that has been written to date. We have hesitated in the past to open the project up so we could get the initial coding completed and release a beta prior to community involvement.

The project consistes of several sub projects and all are based around the creation of a fulcrum and modules which will be distributed as extentions to the 1060-NetKernel Rest Application Server. The projects are aimed at providing resources to SME's enabling them to exchange information with trading partners and end consumers. With the framework heavily biased towards EPC Global Schemas for event notification and PML for building complex historical (traceability) records. We are also utilising ASN.1 as a means of mitigating performance and cost problems associated with restricted bandwidth networks and devices.

Our main goal is to provide users with the tools to build communities, exchange data both within and outside of those communities and to take advantage of communal use of resources and memberships such as EPC Gloabal.

At present we are setting up a NetPeer and will use this to bootstap peers. We are providing LDAP for membership services and soon will provide a test gateway into the EPC Global Network Test area. Once going live this will allow users to exchange information with users of other systems as well as our own.

Additional work has centred around the provision of P2P Web Services allowing multi language document production through a web based ontology services and EAN.UCC menbership services (provisioning and administration of serial codes.

The project draws heavily on JXTA, JINI, P2PSockets, JXTA-C, JXTA-ME as well as the 1060-NetKernel.
