I haven't posted about christine in a few months, this is because I'm focusing on work more than any other thing, beside, I'm not running Linux natively since November. So, does this means that I have no interest on developing Christine ... [More] anymore?.Well, that's not True. Christine have been my default music player since I start working on it, believe me, I haven't touched rhythmbox or banshee for that, and I don't like to leave years of my hobby work just like that. Then, If I'm focusing on my work and I don't use Linux as my main OS (neither Windows, I stop using it years ago), what's the future of christine?.I realize that PyGTK is not the right tool for this to continue, but please, don't get me wrong, GTK as platform is good to create GUI apps, I love the way it works and how things needs to be written, its simplicity and how things behave; the problem is that GTK is not that portable as it should be.I know many apps are written in GTK and behave natively on the three most popular PC platforms, but they cost too much effort to me, more if you count that as today, Christine is just a hobby, needs-driven program. I mean, I can't put 8 hours of my day to develop it; but I really want to make it work here (OS X).What am I thinking??.. I've been searching and while several of my friends told me that wxWidgets is the answer, but doing more research, I found that QT is a quite interesting platform because of the phonon component. Both have been wrote on C++ and both have their respective Python bindings. If you are interested on Christine and know about this frameworks, please, let me know what do you think. [Less]
