Project Summary

CHOUETTE is an open source software financed by the French Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Development. Its main purpose is to validate, exchange (import/export) and manage the data describing the reference data (theoretical timetables) of public transport networks, in accordance with the French standard Neptune (NFP 99506) exchange profile.

CHOUETTE has two component :
- a java web application server
- a Ruby on Rails man-machine interface

This software is particularly addressing Transport management Authorities, public transport Operators and their contractors, in order to facilitate the implementation of multimodal traveller information systems, and is also useful for businesses or researchers, who can integrate the code in their own applications.
