i9 License |
------------

The i9 License is a perpetual, irrevocable, per-file license designed to allow for maximum freedom of code use and
distribution, whilst ensuring that code cannot be withheld from public access.

It gives permission to perform a wide range of activities with Covered Source Code, and unlike some licenses,
does not require that source code under other licenses be made available/released under the terms of this
license, when combined with other source code (it is "non-copyleft").

No restrictions are placed on the purposes for which Covered Source Code can be used
(e.g. Covered Source Code could be potentially used in nuclear weapons systems, or aircraft control systems),
and no other restrictions can be added to this license document.

NOTE: NO WARRANTY, EITHER EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED IS PROVIDED WITH COVERED SOURCE CODE,
AND NO GUARANTEES ARE MADE ABOUT THE MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR PURPOSE, OR QUALITY OF COVERED SOURCE CODE.

The following activities are permitted with Covered Source Code:

* Redistribution of covered files, either whole, or in part provided
that copyright notices are not defaced or removed
(you can still apply additional/existing license headers to Covered Source Code,
providing that the i9 License header is not removed).

* Modification of source code, and redistribution of modifications made,
without additional permission to remove this license from the source code.

* Combination of the source code with source code under other Open Source licenses
(including the list published on the Open Source Initiative website at http://www.opensource.org/licenses/alphabetical),
as well as all GNU GPL and LGPL versions (including 3.0, and any later versions),
and with code published under a proprietary/closed-source license,
provided that any changes made to Covered Source Code files are made available
upon request, or placed on a publicly accessible server (you do not have to provide every file in your codebase,
just the files covered under the i9 License).

The following activities are not permitted with Covered Source Code:

* Removal or defacement of copyright notices attached to Covered Source Code
(you can, however append the year you modified the file in to the copyright date listed,
as long as it is not already listed on the copyright line,
as well as listing your name as an author/contributor in the file).

* Distribution of covered files, or derivatives
(e.g. compiled binary versions of a file, or Covered Source Code files with other source code),
without making the Covered Source Code files publicly available on request, or on a server accessible to the public.
