After a long wait it has finally come: Dizkus, the integrated forum module for Zikula, is released in version 3.1.
Main changes:
* Gettext based
* Adaptation to Zikula 1.2.x
* Preparation for Zikula 1.3.x (should work so far, but is not officially supported yet)
* Complete conversion to DBUtils
An overview of all closed tickets is available here.
As has become redundant due to the conversion to Gettext the old language, are the translations must be updated accordingly. This is available translate.zikula.org. The English texts are all available there and wait for a translation. The German version is already finished and already in the extdb.
Zikula minimum requirement is 1.2.3, it could run with all 1.2x versions before, but this has not been tested. In 1.1.x it is definitely not running!
Important note: Before upgrading, please make a backup, there are changes to the database instead. Anyone who has manipulated his own Dizkus tables *might* have problems upgrading and prudent to provide these changes be reversed.
Next is a complete change for Zikula 1.3.x. Locally it has been running so far with the upcoming new core version. But it is still quite a bit of fine tuning necessary.
Have fun,
Frank (Landseer) and Carsten (herr.vorragend)

he development of new EZComments version is complete and the comment module is now presented in version 2.0.0. This release is intended for the Zikula 1.2 series and is therefore based on gettext. The development took a little longer. Therefore, I am glad that the release is finally ready. During this time the module has changed very much. Beneath the surface, along with the templates. The Gravatar integration has been optimized and is now identical to the new versions of Avatar, Dizkus (soon) and more. In addition, a new template set was added. There is now a Dizkus style as well as the Standard style, which is now based on Templatica. This Templatica set uses one template file and four different CSS files which can be changed in the module administration.
An update, incidentally, is also strongly recommended for safety reasons. So in previous versions, under certain conditions, it was unfortunately possible for a user to approve his own comments and/or to modify other comments. Depending on the permissions configuration an anonymous user was able to modify foreign content. These problems are now solved.
The next version of the next Zikula core is actually already in progress and almost completed.
Thank you very much,
Mateo and Carsten
