Search for person returns multiple results for the same person

What does it mean when People search (http://www.ohloh.net/accounts/search) returns instead of multiple projects for some person, instead some person repeated n-times, sometimes once for each project? Can I correct it not being this person?

Example: Catalin Marinas contribute both to 'Stacked Git' (StGIT) and to Git, Cogito etc.

Hi Jakub,

Our system doesn't know that these identical names are actually the same person. Someone needs to manually tie them all together.

Currently, only the owner of these commits can do this, by claiming all of the commits with the I am this person button and attaching them to his or her Ohloh account.

You can only do this for your own contributions. You can't do it on someone else's behalf. This was a conscious decision on our part, mostly just to keep the implementation simple. We might implement it someday.

For now, you'll have to persuade Catalin Marinas to sign up for an Ohloh account to combine all of the activity on all of the projects.
