Apache OFBiz status is not updated for a longer period now

Hi All,

Reviewing the Apache OFBiz status page I noticed that it (and underlying data) hasn't been update for 2 months now.

What needs to be done to get it going again?

Best Regards,

Pierre,

There are two projects:
https://www.openhub.net/p/Apache-OFBiz and
https://www.openhub.net/p/ofbiz
One of these has been reported as a dupe of the other.

Both were enlisted with the same failed enlistment (entirely our fault for the failure...)

Now making progress, I hope. I'll report back here with the results.

Thanks!

Hi,

Yes, you can regard the second (https://www.openhub.net/p/ofbiz) to be the duplicate of the first.

So, only the first should be updated. Unless you have other viewpoints.

Pierre

Pierre,

The only reason I even hesitate is that the second has an added enlistment (from CVS) which may be useful? I can duplicate that in the Apache-OFBiz project but I wanted to see updated reports from both. May be the source of extended history for the project and also extra headaches regarding code duplication between the CVS and the subversion with distorted lines-of-code metrics. Let's see.

Thanks!

P.S. It looks as if we will add 252 commits to the subversion once we finish the update. Will report back.

Pierre,

The quick summary is that there is a gain of history by having the CVS enlistment in the mix with very little sacrifice in accuracy of the Lines-of-code counts BUT there remains a problem:
There is a period of that history unaccounted-for. To completely cover the history of the project there is an additional subversion repository that needs to be added (and I'm not sure it even exists any more...) I will add it (or try) to the dupe project and see where that takes us and see if it fills in the gap without any huge bloat in the Lines-of-code counts. I'll report back.

Thanks!

Pierre,

I can't find the old subversion and it's a toss-up if it's a value to have all the history from 2001-08-24 through 2003-08-14 and then miss all the commits until 2006-07-01. Only you and the other OpenHUB activists can decide what to do. Perhaps someone there knows where the mid-age subversion is or can find a back up to restore to some free subversion host or to a branch at Apache.

Let me know...

Thanks!

Hi,

Thank you for looking into to this so thoroughly. I will consult other contributors to see if it is still somewhere available.

Pierre

It seems that during the silent period 2003-2006 the project had a repository at java.net. I couldn't find it there, but we are looking for archives.

I would like to kill the duplicate in order to end the ambiguity by adding the sourceforge reference of the duplicate to the main OFBiz placeholder. Is adding that reference to the main and informing you when it is done enough to have it killed? Or do I need to perform additional actions?

Regards,

Pierre

Pierre,

I need to consult with management. I'm having trouble getting the repository moved over from the dupe project to the real one. I'll document the CVS enlistment fully then trash the dupe today.

Thanks!

Pierre,

Dupe is gone. It seems in the process of removing the dupe, the two were merged regarding enlistments and so the CVS is magically now in the project you wanted to keep. No drama!

I'm sending off an e-mail regarding what I know about the missing years.

Thanks!
