Looks like the fetch is progressing at approximately 110 commits per day. At this rate, it will take 30 days to finish the fetch barring unforeseen problems and the variability of the commits encountered.
At least once this is done it shouldn't need to be done again. The daily (or however often) updates are incremental and only process the commits added since the last update.
I'll report back here once I have a better perspective in a few days.

Looks like the fetch is progressing at approximately 250 commits per day. Hopefully will finish before winter sets in...
A little math: 28,535 divided by 250 = 114 days! What was I thinking??? Will finish before the end of November with fair sailing.

This is taking so long... We've been at this since mid-July and we're near the end with 7740 commits remaining to be processed. I must say, I've been remiss in not keeping an eye on this issue as well as I could have been. We started with 33,000 commits and have whittled that down to less than 20% remaining. Still, it should have been done long ago.
My apologies to you and to Bruno. Will try to keep after it now.

At the rate of update that I see today (is 260 messages scanned per 24h), the analysis will be completed in 17 days, more or less.

Your calculation is probably spot-on but for the sake of argument I'll look up dates for when I noted the stall and did something about it...
17/Mar/14 10:07 AM - Job resumed at (0/7668).
28/Mar/14 9:39 AM - Job is at (3266/7668).
Progress 3266 commits in just under 11 days (10.98) = 297.5 / day
Be aware that commits are not uniform. Some are very trivial while others touch everything but the third rail. Everybody's mileage will vary.

I was thinking it will end in 14 or 15 days. And that will be great! It's awesome.
If I remember correctly, there have been big changes on svn commits between 4000 and 5000. I do not remember exactly the number of commits.
But it's good enough for the time, do not worry. ;-)

We are approaching the end here. We're processing the last nine commits at this point and I expect the fetch phase to be finished today or tomorrow. Then on to the Import and line-counting phases. At least all the information is already in-house for those steps and should progress more quickly (!?!).

A long saga ended... Over the weekend the FetchJob finished OK showing (7668/7668).
The following jobs finished OK as well (81416 total commits). Analysis was then at April 12, 2014 on code collected on March 17, 2014 and last commit was at March 17, 2014. An update started immediately which ran OK (440 added commits). Analysis is now at April 14, 2014 on code collected on April 14, 2014 and last commit is at April 12, 2014
Hopefully, this will start a new era of reliability... If not, please let me know here if problems show up again.
