KDE repos failed

Hi,

could someone tell me why the new KDE git repos failed to import?

We are currently trying to fix the repos for a correct git conversion. It would be of great help to find issues and fix them before we finally activate the repository.

Thanks for your help!

Cheers,

Andreas,

Could you please let me know what project(s) need the attention? I took a look at the list of projects you manage and didn't see one that immediately jumped out to me as requiring KDE git repos. Will check each one more thoroughly tomorrow.

Will also check best practices from others who are using git successfully.

Thanks!

It's about the git repositories at

https://www.ohloh.net/p/kde/enlistments

They currently rescanned. Maybe we fixed the problems.

git://anongit.kde.org/kde-runtime.git master

and

git://anongit.kde.org/kde-workspace.git master

failed some hours ago. Would it be possible to find the reason. Is this a commit which makes the trouble?

Andreas,

Looks like the data was retrieved from the git fine. The problem seems to be local here at ohloh. Our usual processing facilities are still somewhat behind due to some maintenance done over the weekend and some jobs may fail due to the extra load. Will continue to monitor these jobs and hope for a good conclusion. I'll report back with any news here.

Thanks!

Thanks for the response. I just wanted to make sure that we don't have these problems in git as we had with svn.

Thanks for looking into this.

kde-runtime failed at ~85% in step 3. I think kde-workspace was as ~75% in step 3.

Does the system automatically retry to count the lines if it fails?

Andreas,

All jobs finished OK. Analysis page is up-to-date (30 Jan 2011).

As far as automatic retries are concerned, some processes are retried up to 3 times before total failure (mainly Fetches and Completes (delta fetches). We do have protections to allow the other kinds of jobs to run for so long but to be deferred for a while if they appear to be running overtime. True failures in the internal steps aren't retried automatically (I don't think...) (There are oh so many causes of failures in the internal steps.)

Thanks!

Andreas,

All enlistments have updated OK: Ohloh update completed about 19 hours ago.

Analysis page is now up-to-date (06 Feb 2011).

Thanks for the notice. I've seen it on Friday but was at FOSDEM this weekend.

Thanks for your help and the ohloh service.
