Setting the manager of a project does not make him/her a contributor.

I needed to make myself a contributor of the project I was already a manager of in order to make my projects show up in my main page. I do not really understand this. If one manages a project, this person is already contributing to it, right? So I would expect this to be done automatically, that means, when anybody is set as a project manager under Projects I manage or Who manages ProjectName?, this person should be show under Who contributes to ProjectName? as well.

Can anybody explain me why is this working like it is? Am I missunderstanding something?

Thanks in advance.

I'm guessing that managers are implicitly contributors.

For example I am listed as a manager for Vexi:
https://www.ohloh.net/p/vexi/

I do not appear in the contributor list on that page, but if you follow the link to see all contributors, I appear there:
https://www.ohloh.net/p/vexi/contributors/
