It would be nice to be able to add multiple repository urls that count in activity measurement but not for total code count. In Crystal Space we use many subversion branches in which we do the actual development. The main branch is left relatively untouched except when there is a merge from a development branch to main branch. That makes it appear as if there is little activity. But of course you don't want the development branches to add up to the total amount of lines in the code as they are essentially duplicates of the entire project.
Greetings,
No reaction? Is my suggestion not clear enough? Any particular reason why this would be a bad idea?
Greetings,
Hi jorrit,
Sorry for the silence. We're really not ignoring you -- we just get an awful lot of email these days, and we fall behind sometimes.
This is absolutely a good idea. In the long run, we hope to parse all the project repositories and branches so that we can find all activity by all of the developers.
Then, in order to give a count of the current total lines of code, we'd need some indication of which branch or url represents the current trunk.
This lines up very closely with what you're recommending. Technically, it will take us a while to get there, but our road map does lead to this outcome.
