GeekNet closes ohloh?

Hello Mates,

that site: http://blog.devx.com/2010/06/famed-freshmeat-software-listi.html says, that GeekNet closes ohloh. Is that right? I haven't seen any announcement on the Top Page.

So sad if it's tru (I don't care about freshmeat, but I will miss Ohloh).

Seems that adding new features to ohloh was ceased several months ago - I wondered why and finally I've got it.

If true, i hope they do the right thing and release the ohloh source code before closing.

Clearly something bad has happened to Ohloh, weeks of email to them with no response whatsoever. I agree with Brenda, would be nice for them to let someone in the open source community take the site and run.

GeekNet must have seen Ohloh as a competitor to SourceForge and decided the best route was to buy them and discontinue any work on it (besides using it to advertise SourceForge).

Don't worry, if Ohloh does fade another will take its place.

Yup. It has also become a place to spam.

I think the Ohloh long overdue update should solve the problem..
